As Long As We Have One Another

from Giving Up The Dream by Ian Peacock

about

A slightly soppy love song I wrote for my wife, briefly summarising the story of how we met. How sweet :)
It all started with a packet of bacon Wheat Crunchies...who would have thought it?

lyrics

Two folks meet, one brash, one sweet
Barely out of school, neither very cool
Share a packet of crisps, a couple of quips,
Smile cross the room, first kiss will come soon

Writing love letters, the jokes don't get better but they'd live alone in the world if we'd let 'em
No-one else matters, their friends have all scattered, and they'd be content if their dreams were all shattered, as long as they had one another...

Everyone thought.. they were crazy
So immature, a fair bit hasty
But many years later, there is no bond greater
They're still going strong and proved them all wrong

Writing love letters, the jokes don't get better but they'd live alone in the world if we'd let 'em
No-one else matters, their friends have all scattered, and they'd be content if their dreams were all shattered, as long as they had one another...

Young love still burns bright
Young hearts stand and fight
Through the darkest night
Till death do us part...

Writing love letters, the jokes won't get better
but we'll die alone in our home if they'd let us
No-one else matters, our friends are all scattered, and we'll be content though our bodies are shattered, as long as we have one another...
