Interstellar Voyage

from Still Human by Ian Peacock

/

about

A song for all those travelling in spacecraft in winter! I suspect that won't resonate with many people but the song is also a love song really; will his/her love still be waiting when he/she returns home after being away? Will the fires keep burning in cold and difficult periods of their relationship?

lyrics

Bleary eyed I meet the morning, freezing cold my naked body
Polyester, wool or cotton, summer sun is long forgotten

Winds are blowing, leaves are falling,
Sun is fading, nights are longing
All the city streets are crawling,
Hands and feet need winter warming

A satalite receiving nothing, the engine cold the motor stalling
Floating without fear of falling, on an interstellar voyage home to you, home to you

When I come home to blazing fires,
Will I come home to your desire?

Far beyond the earth in orbit, galaxies and blazing comets
Stary eyed, my heart is longing on an interstellar voyage home to you, home to you
Coming home to you, home to you

When I come home to blazing fires, will I come home to your desire?
